UPDATE Sunday, June 12, 2011

Today has not been a good day for Ron. He was too weak to go to church. His temperature was a low 95 but finally went back up to 96. It was also 95 on Friday. It is considered a medical emergency if the temperature gets lower than 95, so I am keeping a watch on it, as well as on his overall needs.

One of Ron's sons called a few minutes ago and Ron did not feel like talking to him. To me, this was just another indication of how bad Ron is feeling because he is ALWAYS eager to talk to his family. Today, he is not talking to me very much, either. I know it is because he is so tired & weak.

Ron and I talked about the possibility of the need for hospice if Ron's health continues to decline. I have read that sometimes a patient can be on hospice and continue the chemo pills and the same medicines that they are currently on. I know that hospice agencies vary in their services, so I will probably be looking into some of them tomorrow to see which ones would allow Ron to continue his current treatment plan that has been set in place by the UAMS oncologist. I have also been online researching our new insurance coverage to see if they will pay for a hospital type hospice if that becomes necessary.   I was very happy to find out that we have great hospice coverage.

Ron & I both continue to hold out for hope in that he will be cured.

We know that God is in control and we are very glad that HE is leading us and directing Ron’s medical care.

As always, you have our very best regards,

Joyce
